“Leading souls to Christ, and transforming them into the image of Christ, to revolutionize the Body of Christ.”
MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission statement is based upon the biblical instructions that Christ gave to the Church from the parable of the “ten servants” in Luke 19:12-27; it is in this passage at verse 13 that He instructs the servants: “Pragmateusasthe” which means “Occupy till I come” in koine Greek — the language of His day. It is our firm commitment to the Lord and the crux of what we make every effort to do on a consistent basis. We are committed to maintaining this mission for the length of our very existence.
CORE VALUES:
At Friendship Baptist Church of Roslyn, Inc. we are a “sola scriptura” ministry, which means all of our worship and services, our business dealings, our fellowships and our relationships are lead and guided by the Holy Spirit, and The Word of God alone. Everything that we do is done with the goal of business and personal transparency so that you may experience the power and the presence of the Lord as we hide behind the “Old Rugged Cross”. Listed below are some of the core values that epitomize the worship experience of our ministry.
Liberty – You are given the freedom to experience the healing power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without judgment as you are led by the Spirit of the Living God you have the liberty to get to the throne room of God and make your petition known, believing by faith that The Lord will hear you, heal you and above all answer your prayers.
Galatians 5:13, John 8:36, and Galatians 5:1]
Love – It is impossible to conduct the business of The Lord and to operate an effective ministry without genuine and authentic love. We honor those who are laboring with, for and alongside us as we propagate the “good news” of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We embrace the biblical tenet of honoring our brothers and sisters in the faith by esteeming them higher than ourselves regardless of titles, positions, or status.
[1 Corinthians 16:14, John 13:34-35, Philippians 2:3, and 1 John 4:8]
Learning – Excellence cannot be attained devoid of education. Ignorance of orthodox doctrine is extremely prevalent in Christendom. We, however, are committed to teaching, training, educating, and enlightening the people of God in the full oracles of the Holy Scriptures with balance and without compromise.
[2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:2-8, and 2 Tim 2:15]
Laity – Every born again believer has a gift deposited in his or her heart that is destined to be used for the glory of God and leveraged for the advancement of His Kingdom. These gifts will serve to assist the ministry in the evangelization of the world by compelling the lost to come to the knowledge of the true and living God.
[1 Peter 4:10, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, and 1 Corinthians 12:31]
Leadership – It is the duty of Church leadership to develop and train the laity according to their God-given gifts, to help transform them into disciples —even as we ourselves become transformed into Disciples of Christ.
[Mark 10:45, Acts 20:35, Luke 22:26, Matthew 20:28 and Acts 20:28]
